Working @ Oviedo, Java @ Debian, Sylpheedoc migration, Sylpheed planet?

Well, we're finally working at Oviedo, 30 Km away from home. Finally, at least this month, I've decided to go by train. I have to wake up earlier, but I don't mind that. The things are still starting, so far I've been asigned to a strange and undefined project: we have to build a development methodology. As an aditional job I'm in charge of the linux servers1 we use for local testing and deploying (also with other guy who confessed to me not having administered a linux box since 6 years ago... huh!).

Found (from debian-amd64 list) a mini How-To for installing Sun Java in Debian, better than I'm currently doing (my Debian system ignores completely java is installed, so all java apps are installed manually).

Today the first commits for the new sylpeeddoc (now in XML) were seen. Francois has started to do the job. A big hurray! for him.

And finally, Paul has finally decided to join blogosphere, so he made me think again on the possibility of set up a SylpheedPlanet planet ala Gnome, Debian et al.

1Development workstations are, as you can imagine, Windoze XP boxes.

Sun Java in Debian

Hi Ricardo, it's Paul (http://www.thewildbeast.co.uk/wordpress/) here.

I was going to suggest 'apt-get install java-package' to you, but it's currently broken, see bug 314234 (http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=314234). I used it before and it couldn't be easier.

Anyway, for when it is fixed, the instructions are here:
